Lauren Lorber- 4s Lead Teacher


I grew up in Glen Arm, Maryland and now reside in Reisterstown.  I attended John Carroll High School, received my Bachelor’s degree in English and Education at Gettysburg College, and received my Master’s degree in Education at Loyola College (Loyola University Maryland).  This is my ninth year of teaching at Glyndon United Methodist School as the Fours’ teacher.

Favorite Children’s Book: The Big Green Pocketbook by Candice Ransom

Favorite Season: Autumn

Favorite Preschool Event: When my students walk down the center aisle in Dew Hall at the Fours’ Graduation Ceremony.



Terri Dotterer- Director/4s Assistant Teacher

Snack Time

This is my fourth year at Glyndon United Methodist School.  I LOVE GUMS!  Our little school is like a second home to me and my children.  I have a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland College Park and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Loyola University Maryland.  My husband and I live in Reisterstown with our two children, Nathan (8) and Amelia (5) and are active members at Glyndon United Methodist Church. 

Favorite Children’s Book: Should I Share My Ice Cream by Mo Willems or possibly the classic, Blueberries for Sal by Robert McClosky.  

Favorite Season: Winter

Favorite Preschool Activity: Anything messy!  Equally, I love the traditions and friendships formed between families throughout the preschool years. 



Ashley Silcott- 3s Lead Teacher
980-SummerMinisI2016 980I grew up in Reisterstown, where I now live with my four year old daughter, Preslee, and our giant Saint Bernard, Pacey! I have dedicated the last nine years to working with children. This will be my second year at GUMS!

Favorite children’s book: Hush Little Polar Bear by Jeff Mack

Favorite season: We love summer! Snowballs, swimming and sunshine!

Favorite preschool event: The Mother’s Day celebration is my favorite event. It’s such a sweet day celebrating the best role out there, MOM!




Kelly LePain- 2s Lead Teacher

I am from Massachusetts; my family moved to Owings Mills in 2016. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Education from Assumption College in 2006. I’ve taught elementary through high school severe special needs, and typical preschool classes. I have been home with my children Colette (5) and Pascal (2) for a few years and I can’t WAIT to get into the classroom again!

Favorite children’s book: Cordelia – a story about a girl who knows anything is possible if she believes in herself.

Favorite season: Winter. It is full of magic and family time.

I am so looking forward to the Preschool Art Show this year. I absolutely love providing materials and watching children CREATE!



Yvonne Jacobs- 3s’ Assistant Teacher

I grew up in Massachusetts, However, I have been in Maryland for 17 years. I have been working at Sparks Elementary as a Cafeteria assistant for 9 years. This will be my 1st year at GUMS. I am excited to be part of the teaching team. My favorite season is Fall. I enjoy walking especially, the NCR trail during Autumn!  My favorite children’s book ( there are many!) but I would sayToo Many Pumpkins by Linda White stands out. I am looking forward to working in the classroom and meeting with family’s and getting started on our Preschool journey.
